Alice Matzkin, born in 1939, shares a studio in California's Ojai Valley with her husband, sculptor Richard Matzkin. Her paintings are in museums and private collections in the United States and around the world, including the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution. She has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show and her work has been hung in the White House.

These paintings are from a series about women and aging called "Naked Truth." The full collection of 12 large acrylic paintings of nude women from age 59 to 87 were featured in the October/November 2000 issue of Ms. Magazine.
